The One with the Lime…. DRESS!

February 23rd, 2012 § 4 Comments

Hi!

Yet another byoorifu day in Vancouv! I’m lovin’ it! [insert McDonalds ad here]

I recruited my adorable munchkin Mwango for today’s shots! She made me all giggly and silly so forgive the blur. It is the blur of happiness!

Can you feel the love tonight?

She is truly the cutest thing. I just want to put her in my pocket and run away.

“Oh, that’s a pretty dress, Angel!”

“Um… it’s a skirt…”

AND I HAVE NO SHAME. How gorgeous??? Really, how gorgeous?! I LOVE IT.

It got a bit chilly while we were outside so I put my little jacket on and I was golden! =) This is what disaster-preparedness is all about, you know.

Skirt from Old Navy, worn with Stitches belt, Aldo wedges, gifted bag, gifted jacket and HAPPY FACE from God!!!

In case you haven’t noticed, I’m very much a Thumbs Up kinda girl. Thumbs up for thumbs up!

Anyway, I have company coming over in T minus 10 minutes so I have to cut my story short =) Let the good times roll!

I hope you’re all feeling as good as I am! And if you aren’t, be SILLY!!! Nothing is as fun as silly behaviour, I tell you!

God bless you!!!

The One with the White Maternity Dress

February 22nd, 2012 § 6 Comments

Hello bananas!

=) It was SUNNY today!!!

I’ve been making a hermit of myself hence the shameless lack of bloggage but today I arose to a beautiful bright sunny day *fist pump* and I thought it was time to rejoin the outside world! Oh my goodness, SUN!!! =) Dare I say it? SPRINGTIME!!!

As you can see, I am a VERY happy little camper! Yay for good weather!!!

It’s nearly impossible to go wrong with a carefree loose dress. Low effort, MASSIVE payoff! And with a big ol’ belt to cinch all the goodies in? Yeah, baby! This one’s a winner! It fetched a nice round sum of hit-ons and compliments. :D I really get off on that. Gimme shoes, chocolate and compliments, I’m golden!!!

Thrifted white maternity dress (because normal dresses are too mainstream), mom’s thick tan belt, gifted Aldo platforms, Aldo bag and assorted bangles from H&M and Maasai Market. Aviators courtesy of the Ol’ Man.

I’ve had such a fantastic day. I’m in such a good mood. Well deserved, too, after the kind of week I’ve been having. I had the sniffles for a while there and then there was suddenly all kinds of catastrophe erupting in other areas of my life – dude. NOT FUN. (Sidenote: I am so eternally woeful. But you love it! :’D ) But after a bit of moping and self-pity, I’m trying to be consciously more positive. Nothing like some positivity to make things better, you know? Plus, if He brings you to it, He will bring you through it. That’s all the reassurance you ever really need.

Meanwhile, LENT begins today! I’m giving up all sorts of things, tangible and intangible. LEGGO!!! 40 days? Pssssh. Small time. Let’s do it!

=)

Hope you’re all well! Crazy stats yesterday! Who sent you guys here? Gosh, I was a bit scared, actually!

:D

God bless you all, and abundantly!

The One with the Lesso Skirt

February 2nd, 2012 § 3 Comments

Hello ladies and germs!

Saseni???

Oh I’ve had such a nice day! :) Aaaaaaah. Good people, good times, yo.

I feel happy, you guys! I feel so happy. My face kind of hurts from smiling and laughing so much.

Fun fact for you guys – these days I walk around with a knife in my bag.

I’ve been taking fruit to school with me for when I get the lunchie munchies (which is ALL DAY, wtf) and I love bananas and grapefruit. But UBC Food Services won’t cut a grapefruit open for you if you don’t buy one of theirs. I know, wtf? So now I have to carry a knife in my bag. I’ll be sitting in the library looking all non-scary and things, and then I’ll take out my grapefruit… and then I’ll take out my KNIFE OF DOOM. You should see the looks I get. Yesterday my knife was much bigger. Today I brought this one because it makes me look like less of an axe-murderer. (Onyancha types…) Too bad I can’t help my blood-thirsty murderer face :/

Lesso skirt from Maasai Market, worn with Old Navy top, Stitches belt, Aldo booties and bag from the UBC SUB.

Nothing as good as positive energy.

P.S. CONGRATULATIONS to the gorgeous Nimo (check her out) for getting into UBC!!! So proud. SO PROUD. Honestly. What is this. It’s like she’s my child. Gosh, I’m so proud. :)

Ah. YAY.

Just yay.

Ok. Bye guys!!!

HAPPY FRIDAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God bless xx

P.S. There is a very weird fast-moving star thing that is tripping Ewuraesi and I out. Does anyone else see it??? OMG. Ewuraesi is mad – she wants to follow it. What the hell? That’s how people get raped by those aliens in x-files. Following stars anyhowly. Lololol. I said “anyhowly”. Ah. Lol maximum. Windows has UNDERLINED that shiznit.

Words which are not words according to Windows: Shiznit, anyhowly, lol, lololol, Ewuraesi, Fridayyyyyyyyyyyy, ok, yay, ubc, Nimo, onyancha, axe-murderer, lunchie, wtf, aaaaaaaaah, saseni.

The One with the Striped Skirt

Hi :)

Not much to say today. Not the best day.

Last time you saw this skirt, it looked like this. Today,  it looks like this:

Mariposa miniskirt worn as a top, worn with Mariposa pants, Aldo booties,  UP bag and gifted scarf.

I had to rush to get ready today, because I slept through my morning call. There was no time even to make my hair look decent. :) Funga kitambaa, endelea na maisha :)

Ugh. Such a gross, tiring, upsetting day. -sigh-

Tomorrow it’s February. Hmm. We shall see.

God bless!!!

The One with the Presentation Outfit

January 30th, 2012 § 3 Comments

Bonjour mon amoureux! How are you? Je suis très fatigué… c’est encore lundi! Sacrebleu! What is this? I can’t.

I just got back from class and I had to take these pictures just as the light was starting to fade. :/

White skirt from Momma, worn with men’s long sleeve tee from Stitches, Momma’s belt, Aldo booties and my brother’s laptop bag.

I’ve had quite a day. For one of my courses this semester we have to do group presentations. As much as I consider myself quite a ‘people person’ in that I’m really friendly and open, I really DETEST working in groups because I hate having to count on people other than myself. I can be quite critical and I get very frustrated when people don’t pull their weight.

Anywho, I got bundled with three guys for this particular assignment. Which is good, because I prefer to work with guys rather than girls. Two of them are actually quite competent but the other one has just been a thorn in my side this whole time. He wouldn’t contribute AT ALL or volunteer to do anything. So we decided that since the three of us had done all of the real work, we’d have him do the speaking at the actual presentation. He wouldn’t have to do much, just master a speech that I wrote and gesture at the Powerpoint from time to time, you know? I really didn’t think it would be a problem because we were quite confident about our content.

So I initially had on a really basic all black outfit for today because as far as I was concerned, I wasn’t going to have to say anything and I was just going to nod in agreement while this guy gave a sterling speech (yes, I’m saying I wrote a sterling speech. What). I had an hour free before presentation time so I went home to do some munching :)

Lo and behold, THIS CHILD emails me telling me about how he can’t do the presentation because he didn’t go through it over the weekend and so he won’t know what he’s talking about and asks me to do it for him. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Less than an hour to time!!! Can you believe it? What nerve! I really ought to have said no and let him look a fool, but it was my grade at stake, too, and I’ll be damned if I’ll let some halfwit lazybum lose me marks.

So anyway, I had to change my outfit and look somewhat more presentation-ey, and then hightail it over there to make it in time, where I found that this guy hadn’t even bothered to look a bit professional for the thing. *GRRRRRRRR*

Luckily enough, I was familiar with the content and the Powerpoint because I’d done a lot of the work on it, so we actually did quite well (9 out of 10 for presentation and 8.5 out of 10 overall wooo!) but WHAT THE HELL?!!! That was so reckless, irresponsible and JUVENILE! What if I hadn’t checked my email? What if I had been sick? What if what if what if??? Oh my goodness, I was FUMING. I did give him quite a talking-to but it was mitigated by the fact that we got a good grade. I swear if I had got a bad grade for this boy… >:|

Smh. Thoroughly unamused.

oK. Enough ranting. I have things to do.

Hope you guys are off to a better start of the week :)

God bless you all!!!

P.S. I just downloaded Opera this weekend and it is my new FAVOURITE browser. Love it.

The One with the Outtakes

January 29th, 2012 § 6 Comments

Hola!

Good weekend, everybody?
Mine was the BOMBDIZZLE. Don’t ask, won’t tell. :) I’m bouncing-off-the-walls happy, though. :D <—- Permanent expression.

I didn’t take outfit pictures over the course of the weekend. I have been quite rushed, come to think of it. Anyway, as a filler, I thought I’d put up these pictures from a couple of weeks ago. They’re two outfits that I photographed but didn’t upload because I’m a lazybum :) Wanna know what’s funny? I actually miss the short hair, after whining about it so much. The grass is ALWAYS greener on the other side, wtf.

Also, notice anything new about the blog? No? Ok.

Haha.

Dude, I have a paper to start on, an application to submit, a chapter to read, and a hem to repair. And my nails need re-doing. WHERE DOES TIME GO??? Gosh.
I better get to it.

Regular programming resumes tomorrow :)

Have a blessed week, everyone! Jesus loves you :)

The One with the Floral Jumpsuit

January 26th, 2012 § 8 Comments

Hello hello, bombshells!

What a fine day for science! Sun’s out! Wooooooooooooooooooooooooop! The joy! It’s the simple things in life, you know! Eek! I’m in such a brilliant mood :D

I’ve convinced myself that Spring is veritably approaching, even though I know in my heart that Vancouver could still spring some snowfall on us (see what I did there?). In the spirit of the new season, I whipped out the FLORALS today, yay!

Ok. If you know me at all, you’ll know that I’m generally not one for prints. Apart from leopard print (RAWR!) and basic polka dots or stripes, I generally don’t do prints. I rarely ever wear checks, or plaid, or paisley, or florals… I like solids. But how COMFY is this jumpsuit??? It feels like pyjamas! I actually have it in two colours – pink and blue – it’s just that comfy. I love it!
I only have one thing to say about it, though. There is NOTHING more awkward than going to pee when you’re wearing a jumpsuit. I won’t go into the details.

Also, has anyone else noticed? I can’t get enough of this bag. THANK YOU, CYPA!!!

UP floral jumpsuit, worn with Aldo bag and wedges, and blazer from Sunbeam.

Ooooh I just got home from class. Longish day. Is there anything that feels as good as getting home, taking the brassiere and heels off and just SITTING? Is there? It can’t just be me… Actually…

My friend was actually telling me yesterday how it always amazes him how girls can take their bra off with their clothes still on. LOL! And then you pull it out of your sleeve! LOL so it’s not just me! It’s a skill! It’s like how us girls are all born knowing how to do that turban thing with our towels. Who run this mutha??? :D

Anywho, I hope you guys are doing good. IT’S NEARLY THE WEEKEND!!! Ugh, I just can’t wait. I can’t.

God bless you all!
